This Job Applicant Privacy Notice outlines how Rational Data collects, uses, and processes personal data (referred to interchangeably as "Personal Data" and "personal information") from job applicants (hereinafter "you") residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We process your Personal Data in line with this Privacy Notice, unless specific requirements of applicable law override it, in which case such law will take precedence.

- Evaluation Data: Qualifications, skills, experience, education, employment history, assessment results, technical assignment feedback, cover letter, references, portfolio, answers to role-specific questions, online profiles (e.g., GitHub, StackOverflow, personal websites), any other information you voluntarily provide, etc.
- Communication Data: Records of correspondence, emails, chats, offer details, and information from video calls or in-person interviews, including recordings when applicable, etc.
We do not request or collect sensitive data, such as race, political beliefs, religion, or sexual orientation, as this information is irrelevant to our candidate selection process. Please refrain from including sensitive data in your application. If you voluntarily provide such information, you consent to its processing alongside other Personal Data, and such data will only be used for legitimate recruitment-related purposes.

We receive your Personal Data in various ways:
- Directly from you: Through your application, forms you complete, assignments, and information shared during interviews.
- From third parties: Such as recruiters, staffing agencies, references, and background check services.

Data Retention Period
We retain Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes outlined above. For candidates who may be considered for future roles, we generally retain data for up to 5 years from the last written communication, adjusting based on demand for specific skills or seniority. To comply with data minimization principles, we review the relevance of retained data at regular intervals during the retention period. Data will be deleted unless explicit consent is obtained for longer retention.
For successful candidates, data from the recruitment process will become part of their employment record, maintained according to our employee privacy policy.
Personal information will be deleted upon:
- Expiration of the retention period.
- Your objection to processing.
- A written deletion request from you.
Data Protection Measures
We implement policies and controls to protect your data from accidental loss, unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. Access is limited to those with a genuine need. Third parties are bound by confidentiality.
